Operation “Homeless Shelter Gift Bags” complete! Yesterday we delivered our Christmas gift bags to the Harvey County Homeless Shelter. We ended up putting together 23 bags (12 men, 8 women, 3 children)! What a great feeling, to be able to give to so many people.
We delivered these on a Saturday, so that Mike and the kids could participate. I want my kids to understand that there are all types of people in need of shelter. No stereotypes. No one type of person. I have shared my story with my children, but visiting the shelter was a great experience for them (and for Mike and myself).
My daughter, Raven, was a HUGE help in getting these bags all stuffed and ready to go. Thanks, Rae!
I would like to send a very special thank you to the following people for their generous donations. You all helped make this project extra special – and affordable! 😉
- Jessica Schmidt (you can purchase the Christmas gift bags here!)
- Charlene Schmidt
- Karen Hogan
- Shelia Carey
- Rhonda Richert
- Stephanie Pfeiff
- Tricia Kelly
- Jodi Gingerich
I am SO looking forward to doing this again next year! I also hope to volunteer more of my time. Let’s make 2016 the year of giving! ❤
