A Green-ish Thumb

20160525_102731

I am ecstatic about the progress of my little garden! With all of the rain that we have been getting lately, it seems like these plants have grown by leaps and bounds.

I love, love, love being able to just snip some fresh herbs from my porch! I have used everything so far. I made fresh mint water and have cooked with the basil, cilantro and parsley. Continue reading

Summer Destinations {2016}

1013006_10201384872402087_590536336_n

We will be traveling to Colorado in a couple of weeks and I am so ready to go! Not only will we be visiting my brother and his family that just relocated to CO from Jacksonville, but I will get to see all of my siblings (plus my mom and my niece – yay!).

Back to the Grind

desk2

I am happy to report that I now have a part time job. The best part – it is a work from home job!

A wonderful friend has hired me to help her with her crazy workload, so I am currently scheduling appointments from home.

I feel very blessed to not only be helping a friend, but to be helping myself as well. As much as I love being a stay at home mom, I also love getting paid! (Don’t we all?!)

So that’s what I’ve been up to lately. What’s up with you?

This post is simply about our family and how we have approached this seemingly controversial situation. I am not here to place judgement on others that might have a different view on this subject. I’m just trying to make it through these teenage years with my kids! 🙂

My daughter, Raven, is turning 13 in August. If you ask me, she lives a great life. Loving parents, roof over her head, food on her plate, clothes on her back.

If you ask her, though, she is deprived. She didn’t have electronic devices of her own for the first 8 or so years of her life. And she doesn’t have a cell phone – which means that she is one of the very few kids in her grade that doesn’t have one. Continue reading
