It was really hard to want to come back to Kansas, after spending a few days in Colorado. Not only is it a beautiful place with amazing views from almost everywhere (at least where we were), but there was no humidity and almost no bugs! That’s my kind of place. And I will admit that I have been looking at real estate ever since we got back home. 😉
Seriously, even Walmart and Target have nice views! 😀
This was the view from our room and from our balcony…
I would wake up early, throw on a hoodie, and head out to sit on the balcony. I loved it!
And I saw more deer in the four days I spent in Colorado, than in all twelve years that I have lived in Kansas! They are everywhere, and they walk right up to your property!
Here are some random photos (mostly of the scenery, since I was in awe most of the time. I couldn’t stop taking photos!)
The drive was smooth, with no hiccups along the way. Perfect weather, too. We hit a tiny bit of snow going through one of the passes, but nothing major and it didn’t last long.
Of course we had to hit a couple of the local places. That’s one of my favorite parts of vacationing. Not just food places, but local shops, too.
Grape lemonade sorbet. Sooo good!
Possibly the best sugar free mocha I’ve ever had. Seriously delicious.
Wine tasting, anyone?
We had a blast visiting with family that we rarely get to see. My kids got to hang out with some of their cousins, which is something that we took for granted when we were kids (all of us cousins lived close enough that we were more like siblings).
Some random family photos…
Not so normal ^^^ (although it probably depends on the day 😉 )
The five stooges.
All in all, a wonderful vacation. And now that we have family there, I can’t wait to go again! 🙂
